Intro
Harry Potter's at it again, waing his wand round and getting into trouble. In this part of the series, Harry Potter is chosen to compete in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, a competition between three schools of magic.
Listen to Taylor and Dave chat about the movie.
Dave: Harry Potter& the Goblet of Fire, ah, come out, I think, last week.
Taylor: Yes,last week
Dave: Yeah, it's number one, number two in the box office right now. It's supposed to be a phenomenal movie
Taylor: You know, there's always been an interest in movies about wizardry, you know, but never has anything been quite as popular until Harry Potter. It's pretty impressive.
Dave: Yeah, yeah. It is kind of a landmark, I dont know, story, in that respect, isnt is?
Taylor: Mm hm
Dave: This, now, in the Goblet of Fire version, this is where the characters start to come of age, I think they're hitting puberty now. Harry Potter, he shows a little bit of stubble on his face.
Taylor: Finially reaching his namesake
Dave: Right,"hairy" Potter
Taylor: Right
Dave: Good call.
Taylor: Do you know what, really, is the key element of the story?
Dave: I dont know. I saw the preview online. AH, just this morning.
Taylor: Mm hm
Dave: And, it seems to center around some sort of competition. So maybe the "Goblet of Fire" is similar to the Olympics trophy, or something?
Discussion
The Harry Potter series have been extremely successful worldwide. Over 250 million copies of the books have been printed. The creator of the series, J.K.Rowling is the world's first billionaire writer. After the Queen, she is the richest woman in England. I guess you could say that she is "Rowling in the money". Have you read any of the Harry Potter books, or seen any of the movies? what do you think about them?
